    Joe Nano

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Joe leads NewEdge Power’s strategy, corporate development and capital formation. Previously, Joe co-founded Elevate Power, a hydroelectric development company, and was the CFO of Clear Energy Hydro - a hydroelectric IPP - while working on the growth equity and venture capital team at Greenbacker Capital. Joe has held roles in growth equity, venture capital, private equity and development with his experience at Greenbacker Capital, BrightNight, Capital Dynamics and GE Capital. Over the course of his career, Joe has closed on $2.2bn of equity, debt and tax equity transactions across the renewable energy and power sector.

    Steve leads development for NewEdge. Previously, Steve held various renewable development roles focused on greenfield siting, portfolio de-risking, and project execution. Steve has worked across all stages of the development cycle including land origination, executing on acquisition targets, power marketing and contracting, closing financings, procurement and construction with his experience at Plus Power, Crayhill Renewables, BrightNight, Recurrent Energy and GE Capital. Over the course of his career, Steve has successfully closed on more than 1GW of transactions spanning multiple markets.

    Payne Morgan

    CHIEF DISTRIBUTED GENERATION OFFICER

    Payne is a leader in community and distributed power applications. Most recently, he served as the Director of Project Development for Wunder CapitaL where he built the distributed generation development team from scratch, growing it to a team of a dozen developers. Prior, Payne worked on community solar development, holding positions at NYSERDA, AllEarth Renewables, and Encore Renewable Energy. He is experienced in bringing projects from inception to NTP and leading market strategy. Over the course of his career, Payne has developed over 185MW of community solar and distributed generation assets.

    Ganesh Velummylum

    CHIEF TRANSMISSION & REGULATORY OFFICER

    Ganesh has more than 20 years of experience in generator interconnection, resource adequacy, transmission planning, and regulation within the renewable energy industry. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded the development of approximately 20 GW of solar and storage projects in the CAISO, PJM, MISO, and NYISO markets. Ganesh also possesses unique regulatory expertise, having led the Reliability Planning Department at WECC and the System Analysis Department at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). He has held positions at American Municipal Power, BrightNight, AES, sPower, WECC, NERC, NIPSCO, Lakeland Electric, and PJM.

    Rich Clark

    VICE PRESIDENT - DEVELOPMENT

    Rich brings more than two decades of project management experience in energy infrastructure across U.S. and international markets. With more than 12 years focused on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems, he has led teams delivering more than 2GW of operational assets and advancing more than 4GW of development pipeline. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle—from early-stage site strategy and interconnection planning to engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and commercial operations. Over his career, Rich has held key technical and development roles at Cubico Sustainable Investments, Industrial Sun, Lightsource BP, 7X Energy, SunPower, NRG Energy, and ExxonMobil.

    Ashley Lines

    VICE PRESIDENT - ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

    Ashley has worked in the renewable energy industry since 2014, beginning her career as a consultant supporting a major private equity platform as it expanded its U.S. portfolio across solar, wind, battery storage, natural gas, and distributed generation assets. She later joined Arevon as one of its original 14 employees. During her tenure, the organization scaled to more than 260 staff, over 500 legal entities, and approximately $13B in operating and development assets. Ashley led a high-performing accounting team, strengthened compliance and reporting accuracy, and built automation-driven processes to support rapid investor and operational decision-making. With more than a decade of experience in U.S. GAAP, complex deal structures, and renewable project finance, Ashley brings technical rigor, strategic insight, and a process-improvement mindset to support fast, informed decisions in a constantly evolving energy landscape.

    Donna Marceau

    SENIOR DIRECTOR - REAL ESTATE

    As the Director of Real Estate for NewEdge, Donna is responsible for securing land rights, analyzing permitting and zoning requirements, and working closely with the development and legal teams to deliver quality projects. Donna has participated in the acquisition and development of more than 4GW of renewable power across the United States. Previously, she has held roles at industry leaders such as BrightNight and Ecoplexus. Donna brings a unique perspective to the power industry, having worked across multiple real estate sectors, including residential, new construction commercial, land development, and real estate owned disposition.

  • Joseph Kim

    SENIOR DIRECTOR - INVESTMENTS & FINANCE

    Joseph Kim is a clean energy investment professional with over 15 years of experience across strategy, M&A, project finance, and tax equity investments in the energy transition sector. He has led more than $2.3 billion in transactions spanning solar, energy storage, and corporate investments, supporting the development and operation of over 10GW of clean energy projects globally. Joseph has held senior roles in corporate development, project finance, and strategic investment at firms including PassKey (SK Group), SK E&S, OCI Energy, and OCI Company, with a focus on clean energy infrastructure across North America and Asia. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.

    Rachel Walker

    DIRECTOR - PERMITTING

    Rachel leads Permitting at NewEdge, responsible for obtaining federal, state, and local discretionary permits. She has created protocols for simultaneous development of dozens of utility scale projects from greenfield to NTP. Working closely with the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state Public Utilities Commissions, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction, she has obtained permits for over 2 GW of utility scale wind, solar, and BESS projects. Rachel has spearheaded permitting for over 5 GW of utility scale and community solar projects in all ISOs and RTOs including ISONE, NYISO, MISO, SPP, CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, WEIM, the Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions. She has held positions at Avangrid Renewables, Plus Power, and Mission Clean Energy.

    Niko Druzhinin

    DIRECTOR - DEVELOPMENT

    Niko is a Director of Development for NewEdge. With more than 10 years of power-generation development experience, he has worked on a wide range of projects—from commercial rooftop solar in Texas to utility-scale renewables across the U.S. With expertise across the full development cycle, Niko has led projects from inception through land acquisition and permitting, contracting and financing, and ultimately into construction and operations. Over the course of his career, he has worked for Freedom Solar Power, Recurrent Energy, QCELLS, and most recently Geronimo Power, where he led development efforts in the southern U.S. and oversaw 420 MW of solar PV and 330 MW of BESS from origination through operations. Niko is motivated by a desire to repower rural communities and bring sustainable economic development to all local stakeholders.

  • Michael Bateman

    ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - PROJECT FINANCE

    Michael is the Associate Director of Project Finance at NewEdge, focusing on distributed power assets. With seven years of clean energy experience spanning finance, development, and M&A, he built Bear Peak Power's project finance and M&A functions from scratch, transacting on hundreds of MW of community solar and a 200MW utility-scale battery. Previously at Wunder Capital and Sun Tribe Solar, he sold 50MW of BTM solar assets and designed financial models for solar, storage, RECs, and company valuation. A Jefferson Scholar, he holds an M.S. in Commerce (Finance) and a B.A. in Global Development from the University of Virginia.

    Nate Mendez

    PROJECT ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

    Nate is the Project Engagement Manager for NewEdge’s distributed generation projects. He brings over seven years of experience in the renewable energy sector, working on everything from rooftop solar to utility-scale wind projects. As Project Engagement Manager, Nate focuses on expanding NewEdge’s pipeline across a variety of markets and engages in efforts ranging from land acquisition to community engagement and beyond. Nate previously held roles at Pivot Energy, Simpleray, and Invenergy, where he focused on site origination, project development, energy policy, and community outreach. He has originated and helped develop over 80MW of solar projects across the Midwest.

    Dave Kirkpatrick

    Dave Kirkpatrick is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of SJF Ventures. SJF is a positive impact growth equity fund with offices in Durham, New York City, Seattle and San Francisco. SJF was founded in 1999, has 96 portfolio companies and is investing from its fifth fund.  Dave’s portfolio engagements include NewEdge Power, Terabase Energy, Voltaiq, and Nuclearn as well as exited companies TransLoc, Nextracker, groSolar, CleanScapes, BB Hobbs, ROOM, Waycare, Living Earth, ENTOUCH, and Community Energy.  Dave’s industry focus areas include clean energy, climate tech, energy efficiency, and recycling & reuse. Dave was the founding Co-Chair of Impact Capital Managers from 2017 to 2022 and rejoined the ICM board in 2026. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Columbia Business School, where he co-teaches a Climate Tech course. Prior to SJF, Dave founded and managed KirkWorks, a cleantech investment research firm, and SunShares, a solar energy and recycling company.

    Alan Kelley

    Alan Kelley has served as a Managing Director for SJF Ventures since 2006. Focus areas include clean energy, software and sustainable products. He has led or co-led investments for SJF in Carrum Health, Cooks Venture, Easy Metrics, Elemeno Health, LeadGenius, MediaMath, MedPage Today, NewEdge Power, Preclick, Revalue Nature, Ryla Teleservices, ServiceChannel, Vital Farms and Yieldbot.

     Prior to joining SJF Ventures, Alan worked primarily in investment management at SunTrust, where he conceived, developed and managed the firm’s first internet and technology mutual fund and led a $1 billion investment strategy. Alan received a B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University and an MBA from Emory University.

    Brent Beerley

    Brent has been in the renewable industry for 27 years with 2 exits (a wind business sold to Iberdrola Renewables in 2006 and a solar + storage development business sold to AES in 2021). 

     Today, Brent advises a handful of energy & climate tech startups and volunteers with Building African American Minds - an Easton, MD nonprofit.

    Matt is the CEO of Relevate Power and was a co-founder of the Columbia Basin Trust and Columbia Power Corp. Matt was the first Director of IT and Operations for the billion-dollar non-profit that built 1GW of hydropower on the Columbia River. He has since launched and managed large infrastructure projects, tech companies, seed investment vehicles, and start-up incubators, all focused on social good. Matt is also an active investor and advisor to governments, fortune 1000 companies, and startups on innovation, strategy, sustainability, and growth.

    Perry is a power industry veteran and currently serves as the President of Fontana Energy Associates, a company which he founded. Perry was formerly the Vice President of Projects for Ausra, Inc. responsible for site acquisition, permitting, development and acquisitions. Before his work at Ausra, Perry was the Vice President of URS Corporation, responsible for its Electric Power Business in the western United States assisting a number of the major power companies and international financial institutions in completing early and late-stage development activities. Perry has completed the development of natural gas, coal, biomass, geothermal, wind, solar and gasification projects totaling over 10GW of installed generation worldwide.

Prior to joining APB, Mauricio was at Norton Rose Fullbright based in Washington, DC representing multilateral lenders and other financial institutions in the financing of energy and infrastructure projects abroad, focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean.
